-- NYC & Company, New York City's marketing and tourism organization, has announced that 15 city hotels in the Signature collection will participate in a Third Night promotion this winter. Guests who book and pay for two consecutive nights at participating hotels from Jan. 4 to Feb. 28 will get a complimentary third night. Participating hotels are the Carlyle, Hotel Plaza Athénée, Loews Regency, London NYC, Mandarin Oriental, New York Palace, Peninsula New York, Pierre, Plaza, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Sherry-Netherland, Surrey, Trump International Hotel & Tower and Waldorf Towers. Guests will also receive a VIP shopping package from Saks Fifth Avenue that includes a personal-shopping experience at the Fifth Avenue Club, discounts and complimentary coffee and dessert at the store's Cafe SFA. Rates at the London NYC, for instance, start at $299 a night. Taxes are 14.75 percent plus $3.50 per room per night. The rates are based on availability, and certain blackout dates may apply. -- Southwest Airlines has reduced fares to destinations across the country to as low as $59 each way for travel any day of the week from Jan. 12 to March 9. For instance, fly one-way from BWI Marshall to Chicago's Midway Airport for as little as $97 ($107.60 with taxes and fees). Book by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 4. CRUISE

-- Norwegian Cruise Line has slashed fares on its seven-day Norwegian Pearl cruise to the Eastern Caribbean that sails from Miami on Feb. 6. Fares start at $429 per person, down from the brochure rate of $1,299. Taxes of $105.08 per person not included. Airfare to Miami and airport transfers also not included. PACKAGES

-- The Appalachian Mountain Club is offering guests at Joe Doge Lodge in New Hampshire's White Mountains free cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tubing (a $60 value for a family of 4 at Great Glen Trails) throughout the winter. On Jan. 30, Feb. 27 and March 27, guests can also take a free, naturalist-led full moon snowshoe tour in Pinkham Notch. The all-inclusive deal includes dinner and breakfast. Nightly rates start at $72.20 per person for adult nonmembers ($65.66 for members) and $45.12 per person for non-members age 12 and younger ($40.76 for members). All prices include taxes.
