-- Reserve a room at the Amsterdam Court in New York through Bookit.com and get 10 percent off one night's stay, 20 percent off two nights and 30 percent off three or more nights. Book by Jan. 15 for travel through March 31. With the discount, rooms start at $97 per night for three nights or more, down from $139. Taxes of 14.75 percent are not included. -- Virgin America has launched a New Year's sale to all its destinations for travel by June 20. For travel through March 11, flights from Washington Dulles to San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles or Orange County, Calif., are $99 each way on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and $109 each way on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For travel between March 11 and June 20, tickets are $109 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and $119 the other days of the week. For example, round-trip air to Los Angeles costs $219, with taxes; by comparison, other carriers are charging at least $30 more. Book by Jan. 11 at least three days in advance. -- Uniworld River Cruises has a number of savings for 2010, including no single supplement on select cruises and early booking discounts for couples. For solo travelers, book and submit a deposit by Jan. 31 and the cruise line will waive the extra fee on such voyages as Tulips and Windmills, Rhine Discovery and European Jewels. For the latter trip, which spends 16 days sailing from Budapest to Amsterdam, the rate is from $4,199 or $4,599 on departures July 17 and 31, Aug. 7 and Oct. 23. Port charges of up to $196 are extra. Usually, the single supplement costs at least a grand more. For the early booking savings, couples who reserve by Feb. 28 can save up to $600, depending on the European river cruise itinerary. -- Dooley Vacations is offering six nights at the Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt in County Wicklow, Ireland -- plus air and a manual transmission rental car -- from $949 per person. Fly from Washington Dulles to Dublin on select dates through March 3; from New York, the price is $799. Prices are based on four travelers; for only two travelers, each person must pay an additional $30 each. Taxes of up to $150 a person are extra.
