Juarez, 23, of San Antonio; 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Killed Jan. 9 in Helmand province."

The three soldiers were assigned to 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colo. They were killed Jan. 3 in Ashoque.
Senior Airman Bradley R. Smith, 24, of Troy, Ill.; 10th Air Support Operations Squadron, based at Fort Riley, Kan. Killed Jan. 3 near Kandahar airfield.
Sgt. 1st Class Jason O. B. Hickman, 35, of Kingsport, Tenn.; Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Fort Richardson, Alaska. Died Jan. 7 at Forward Operating Base Salerno from wounds suffered at Combat Outpost Bowri Tana.
