Toyota models affected by the gas pedal, floor mat recalls

Toyota has recalled millions of vehicles worldwide in connection with reports of unintended acceleration. The automaker initially blamed faulty floor mats, but it has since recalled more vehicles, citing a flaw in the accelerator. Here is a list of the U.S. vehicles affected by the recalls.

Floor mats

On Oct. 5, Toyota recalled 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the United States because floor mats could trap the gas pedal. The recall was expanded to 4.2 million vehicles on Nov. 25, and the automaker added 1.1 million vehicles on Wednesday. The models involved are:

-- 2007-2010 Camry

-- 2005-2010 Avalon

-- 2004-2009 Prius

-- 2005-2010 Tacoma

-- 2007-2010 Tundra

-- 2007-2010 Lexus ES 350

-- 2006-2010 Lexus IS 250/IS 350.

-- 2008-2010 Highlander

-- 2009-2010 Corolla

-- 2009-2010 Venza

-- 2009-2010 Matrix

-- 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe (in partnership with General Motors).

Accelerator pedals

On Jan. 21, Toyota recalled 2.3 million vehicles in the United States because the accelerator pedal can stick. On Tuesday, the carmaker suspended sales of the vehicles. The models affected are:

-- 2009-2010 RAV4

-- 2009-2010 Corolla

-- 2009-2010 Matrix

-- 2005-2010 Avalon

-- certain 2007-2010 Camrys

-- 2010 Highlander

-- 2007-2010 Tundra

-- 2008-2010 Sequoia.
