As D.C. snow approaches, area college teams make plans

The men's basketball game between Maryland and North Carolina, scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. Sunday in College Park, is still on. Information about Maryland's snow plans can be found here.

The George Mason men left for Philadelphia earlier than planned for their game on Saturday against Drexel, which is still scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m. If the game is postponed until Sunday, George Mason will stay there. The Patriots do have to return to Fairfax for their game against Virginia Commonwealth on Tuesday night.

The Virginia men are scheduled to host Wake Forest at noon on Saturday, and the Demon Deacons left Winston-Salem, N.C., on Thursday night to beat the storm. Under ACC guidelines, if both teams and two of the three officials can make it to the game, it should be played.

The Virginia Tech men's basketball game against Clemson on Saturday at 4 p.m. is still scheduled to be played, and Virginia Tech students will be given free admission with a valid student identification. Information about Virginia Tech's snow plans can be found here.

According to American University officials, the Eagles men's basketball game against Lehigh, scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m., is still on. The Mountain Hawks will be heading to Washington from Bethlehem, Pa., in advance of the storm, and an American official said the game could be played on Sunday if needed.

According to the Georgetown Web site, the Hoyas' game at noon Saturday against Villanova at Verizon Center will still be played. The Wildcats arrived in Washington on Friday morning. Click here for more information.

the George Washington men's game against Duquesne at Smith Center was still on for its 2 p.m. tip-off. A George Washington official said the Dukes were supposed to arrive on Thursday night and that the game would be played as long as the officials were on site. Click here for the latest information.
