D.C. snowstorm forces postponement of Wizards-Hawks game

Sunday, February 7, 2010; D04

The Washington Wizards' game against the Atlanta Hawks at Verizon Center on Saturday was postponed because of severe weather conditions in the D.C. area. The rescheduled game will be announced at a later time.

The Wizards were unable to leave Orlando after beating the Magic, 92-91, on Friday. They decided to stay in Orlando two more nights and fly directly to Charlotte on Monday afternoon; they will play the Bobcats on Tuesday. The Hawks didn't attempt to fly to Washington.

It is the first time that an NBA game was postponed because of weather since a game between the New Orleans Hornets and Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 13, 2007.

Those who have tickets for the postponed game can use them for the yet-to-be-scheduled game; they also have the option of exchanging the ticket for the Wizards' game against Minnesota on Feb. 17.
