TSA reverses decision to penalize Dulles screeners for snow days

Thursday, February 25, 2010

The Transportation Security Administration has reversed itself and decided not to mark Dulles International Airport security screeners AWOL if they did not work when Washington area federal offices were closed during the recent snow emergency, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) announced Wednesday.

The decision follows a Federal Diary report about complaints from Dulles security officers.

"I am pleased that TSA has taken the steps necessary to correct this unfair designation and will increase communication with its workforce to ensure this situation does not occur again," Thompson said.
