A look at the two Maryland women who have agreed to let columnist Michelle Singletary advise them as they leave prison and start new lives.

Stephanie Harris, 27

Harris was sentenced to prison in 2007 for heroin possession. After parole, she plans to work on a street crew as a "clean sweep ambassador" in downtown Baltimore.

Christine Foote, 33

Foote, an administrative assistant at a roofing company, was convicted of stealing more than $68,000 from her employer. She is training to do data-entry work.
