Motorcyclist dies in Charles crash

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after he crashed into a minivan that had pulled in front of him on Route 301 in Charles County, police said.

The motorcyclist, Deven R. Blackshear, 31, of Waldorf was traveling north on Route 301 at high speed when he hit the minivan just north of Route 5, authorities said.

Blackshear was flown to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two people in the minivan were hurt, police said.

Body apparently that of homeless man

Police in Prince George's County were investigating the death of an apparent homeless man whose body was found in the Hyattsville area Saturday night, authorities said.

Just before 8 p.m., officers were called to the area of 23rd Avenue and University Boulevard, where they found the body of a man who appeared to be homeless, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a Prince George's police spokesman. No other details were available.
