The details: Wedding of Elise Baran and Neil Canfield

Sunday, April 25, 2010;

Elise Baran and Neil Canfield were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown on April 10. After the ceremony, they held a reception at the Metropolitan Club of Washington.

Ambiance: Relaxed. Baran and Canfield wanted all their guests -- from college friends to grandparents -- to be comfortable. Multiflor provided vibrant flowers, including a violet bouquet for Baran.

Food: The Metropolitan Club set up three serving stations so guests could chose from meat, fish and chips, or tapas. The club also made the couple's wedding cake, which contained a chocolate truffle layer and a layer of citrus chiffon with vanilla cream filling.

Photographer: Andrew Reilly Photography.

Music: The local party band Sound Connection.

The dress: Baran found her cream, Grecian-style BCBG gown at Nordstrom. To personalize it, buttons from the bride's 95-year-old grandmother's wedding dress were attached to Baran's gown.

First dance song: "You Are the Best Thing," by Ray LaMontagne.
