Gibbs traded up with Denver to pick Jason Campbell with the 25th overall pick -- sending three picks to the Broncos including a first-rounder in 2006. The Auburn product was brought in to compete with Patrick Ramsey and veteran Mark Brunell, but Campbell didn't play a down in his rookie season.

The Redskins brought in Al Saunders -- and his fabled 700-page playbook -- to lead the offense. After a 3-6 start under Brunell, Campbell got his first start (above) against Tampa Bay and took over the starting role for the rest of the season.

The Redskins were 5-7 heading into their Thursday night game with the Bears, but Campbell's season ended early when he was hit by two Bears -- suffering a dislocated patella. Todd Collins led the team to wins in the final four regular season games.

Head coach: Jim Zorn

Redskins' record: 8-8

Games started: 16

Campbell was sacked 38 times in 2008 (43 in 2009) but started every game of his final two seasons with the Redskins. He cracked 300 passing yards just once in the 2008 season, but cut his fumbles down to just one all year.

Campbell dealt with a new offensive hierarchy almost every season and 2009 was a prime example. The Redskins changed play-callers midseason-- from Zorn to Sherm Lewis -- but Campbell had his best offensive numbers.

Five years and a day after being drafted by the Redskins, Campbell is traded to Oakland. The writing was on the wall with a new set of coaches, a new general manager and the acquisition of Donovan McNabb (above) from the Eagles. During his 52-game career in Washington, Campbell threw for 10,860 yards and 55 touchdowns.
