International Pole and Exotic Dance Fitness Convention and Expo

Thursday, April 29, 2010; PG14

Men are more than welcome at the first International Pole and Exotic Dance Fitness Convention and Expo, which will be held May 21 to 23 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center (201 Waterfront St., National Harbor; http://www.poleconvention.com; $80-$105 for a convention pass). Organized by Jessalynn Medairy of the D.C. studio Pole Pressure, the show will bring together vendors and presenters interested in promoting the fitness benefits of pole dancing. Sessions include stars teaching their signature tricks ($75) and a grip strength workshop.

And get ready for the Friday night "Pole Stroll." "We're going to dress up in tacky pole gear and strut around the harbor," says Medairy.
