Art 'Trees of Life II'

Earth Day may have come and gone, but Zenith Gallery is celebrating the wonders of nature with a group exhibition at Chevy Chase Pavilion titled "Trees of Life II." Many of the more than 30 artists on display will be on hand Wednesday to discuss their work in the exhibition, which is inspired by -- you guessed it -- trees. Despite the common theme, the art covers a lot of territory, including Joyce Zipperer's aluminum leaf-adorned shoe sculpture, neon back-lit branches by Candice Watkins and Bill Mead's landscape overshadowed by shockingly large orange squash. And to continue in the eco-friendly vein, 10 percent of art sales will be donated to the Global ReLeaf Campaign, American Forests' drive to plant 100 million trees by 2020.

Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. Chevy Chase Pavilion, 5335 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Chevy Chase. 202-783-2963. http://www.zenithgallery.com. Free.
