D.C. police say some streets will close as part of an event commemorating Memorial Day.

Police say the Thunder Alley event sponsored by the Rolling Thunder motorcycle group will shut down 22nd Street in northwest Washington between Constitution Avenue and C Street, starting at 9 a.m. Friday. The stretch of road will reopen at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle ride through northwest D.C. is planned for Sunday, when several other streets will close. Organizers say they will honor fallen troops and recognize prisoners of war and those missing in action.

In addition, U.S. Capitol Police say there will be parking restrictions around the U.S. Capitol until 4 a.m. Tuesday for set up of the National Memorial Day Concert.
