ARSON
INDIAN HEAD HWY., 7100 block, 12:27 a.m. May 22. A carpet inside a barber shop was set on fire.
Indian Head area
ASSAULTS
REVERDY FARM RD., 2100 block, 7:54 p.m. May 20. A man attacked a woman at a residence, then fled the scene when police were called. During a foot chase near the scene, a police officer was bitten on the ankle by a pit bull. Police shot the dog, which later died at a clinic. A man, 35, was charged with second-degree assault.
La Plata area
VANDALISM
LA PLATA, 11 a.m. May 26. A fire sprinkler head was destroyed at a detention center, causing a flood. A man, 37, who was already in custody, was charged with malicious destruction of property and causing a fire alarm to activate.
Waldorf area
ROBBERIES
AMBERLEAF PL., 2000 block, 10:30 a.m. May 19. Two males forced their way into an apartment at gunpoint, then fled in a Ford Escape with drugs, cash, jewelry and clothing.
ARSON
VERNON RD., 11600 block, 6:06 p.m. May 23. The interior of a vacant residence was set on fire.
