-- BP still working on sawing the riser pipe to its damaged well in order to add a cap and funnel the oil.

-- Pancake-size blobs of oil have begun washing ashore in Dauphin Island, Ala., and parts of Mississippi.

-- Before drilling oil and gas wells, companies must submit more information about risks and safety, the beleaguered Minerals Management Service announced.
