These food establishments were closed because of health code violations. The list, compiled from health department reports, reflects actions taken by the departments.

Al's Pizzeria

1382 E. Capitol St. SE

Closed June 7 for operating without a manager on duty and without a license. Reopened June 8.

Mayflower Chinese Restaurant

4427 Wisconsin Ave. NW

Closed June 8 because of gross unsanitary conditions, including a vermin infestation. Reopened that day.

Night and Day 24-Hour Food Stop

5026 Benning Rd. SE

Closed June 9 because of a failure to minimize vermin. Reopened that day.
