Quinn Cook and Justin Anderson named to USA Basketball under-17 national team

All-Met Player of the Year Quinn Cook of DeMatha and Montrose Christian guard Justin Anderson on Monday made the final cut for the USA Basketball under-17 national team that will participate in the world championships beginning July 2 in Germany.

Montrose Christian All-Met forward Josh Hairston was selected to the under-18 national team, which will play in the FIBA Americas under-18 tournament that begins Saturday in San Antonio.

Hairston will play at Duke this coming season, while Cook will be a senior guard at DeMatha and Anderson will be a junior this coming school year.

The under-17 team will continue training in San Antonio through Thursday, then will travel to Lithuania for exhibition games against Russia's under-18 team and Lithuania's under-17 team.
