Marilynn Katatsky, 62, is a financial firm's senior vice president. Rick Kaufmann, 67, is a natural resources police sergeant. They live in Annapolis.

Wedding date: June 4.

Locations: Spa Creek Conservancy and Annapolis Yacht Club.

Guests: 18.

How they met: In 2002, Marilynn was walking through an Annapolis parking garage after a late happy hour. She bumped into Rick, who was going to his boathouse. After a long conversation, he asked for her business card and home phone number because he wanted to make sure she got home safely. He called later that night, and it was a short conversation, Marilynn says, so she didn't think much of it. The next day at work, she found an e-mail with the subject "Romantic Parking Lot Encounter," and they planned a date for the next weekend.

The proposal: In 2003, they had a romantic getaway to Perry Hall, Md., to celebrate Marilynn's birthday. Rick wanted to pop the question on the trip, but he was unsure if the ring he ordered would come in time because Hurricane Isabel flooded the marina. The salesperson and delivery person saved the day, though, so Rick was able to propose after a nice dinner out.

The wedding: "Because of our age, after a while, people assumed we were married," Marilynn says, "and we got into a rut." But after enough hounding from her clients, she and Rick finally decided to tie the knot. The two were married on their boat, a dream of Rick's, and guests decorated it with garlands of white flowers.

Honeymoon: Sailed to Rock Hall, Md., and ran into a rough storm on their return home.
