‘Overhaul' will ruin Tysons Corner

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Regarding the June 23 front-page article "Fairfax authorizes Tysons overhaul":

The article got it backward. Actually, Fairfax has authorized the transformation of Tysons Corner from a vibrant, workable, conveniently accessible suburb to an overcrowded, congested, noisy city. The only ones who will benefit are the landowners who will rake in billions and who are furiously backpedaling from any green development or affordable housing. The county Board of Supervisors has sold out and is not doing its duty. Suburban residents will pay for this with congestion, noise, crime and all the other ills of cities. We should stop listening to the "vibrancy" nonsense put out by promoters.
