John Daly's pants (and his golf) draw British Open attention

There was the usual alottment of of golf in the first round of the British Open but, more importantly, there was fashion. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson rocked some sort of electric pink shirts. Stewart "The Next Louis Vuitton" Cink unveiled his tweeted-up golf bag, covered in inspirational tweets @stewartcink solicited by Nike.
It was tough to focus on any of that, though, after one look at the blinding britches of John Daly. It was shocking enough that he was among the tournament's leaders and that he's downright svelte. But the fashion visionary put together pastels and paisley in a design that the Wall Street Journal's Paul Beckett felt was inspired by India but looked more like some sort of experiment with pastel specimens in a Petri dish. Whatever. At least he wasn't wearing one of the "Grip It and Tip It" shirts from the John Daly Apparel collection.
And then there was Daly's girlfriend Anna Cladakis, who sported a matching mini.
What will Day 2 bring?
