Date Lab: A goodnight kiss means he likes you, right?

Emily: We decided to skip dessert, but my family tradition is we drink a B-52 [on special occasions]. So [the bartender] made two B-52s.

Franco: I'm thinking, I need to drive home at some point. But it was fun. I'm always up for a good time.

Emily: We settled the check and walked outside and started talking about where should we go. It was about 9:30. I suggested Zaytinya, and we hailed a cab because it was still pretty hot out. We had one round of drinks there.

Franco: She took a picture of me and posted it on her Facebook and was like, "This is my date." I like enthusiasm, but I wasn't expecting that, either.

Emily: We were both kind of goofing off. That's why I did that. He didn't seem surprised. He settled up [the bill], and we walked back toward where he parked. When we were walking to his car, we were holding hands.

Franco: I don't remember holding hands. I think maybe I was trying to guide her across the street. We exchanged numbers. I drove her to the Metro. I think I gave her a kiss, perhaps.

Emily: We held hands as far as I remember and, yes, we did kiss. I would definitely like to see him again. We exchanged phone numbers, and he told me to send him a text message letting him know I got home all right.

Franco: I'd [rate the date] a 4 [out of 5]. She's a cool girl. [But] for me it's almost like hot or cold, there's no warm. I was definitely having a good time, but I'm not sure if I would want to go out with her romantically again.

Emily: I'm going to say a 4.5. He has a very confident personality without being egotistical. You could tell that he's a positive person, that he's enjoying his life.

UPDATE: Emily and Franco's plans for a second date fell through, and the two were trading voicemails at press time. "We may or may not" go out, Emily says. "But either way, I'd be happy if we did and okay if we didn't."
