Art Smith's heart and soul
Celebrity chef Art Smith married his longtime partner, artist Jesus Salgueiro, at a ceremony at Smith's D.C. restaurant, Art and Soul on New Jersey Avenue NW.
"I am an artist, but you are the Art -- my art," Salgueiro said during his vows Saturday. "Without you, the canvas of my life would be empty and bare."
"While I may set the table, be it known that you are the banquet and the feast," Smith told Salgueiro.
The ceremony was an all-day affair and included an 8 a.m. run to the Lincoln Memorial, where spiritualist Marianne Williamson blessed the couple; a midday barbecue for 450 at Smith's restaurant; and music by a 10-man a cappella group.
