PIG ROAST

This annual event at Cafe Saint-Ex offers one of the best of Labor Day traditions: barbecue. Beyond the roast, the restaurant will host a barbecue sauce competition, live music and bar-back olympics. Bring the whole family -- the event is both kid- and pet-friendly. Proceeds will support the Fillmore Arts Center.

Monday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cafe Saint-Ex, 1847 14th St. NW. 202-265-7839. http://www.saint-ex.com. $10 donation.
