Kanye's still sorry

"While Kanye West Gently Tweets" -- probably not the name of the new tune the hip-hopper says he's written for Taylor Swift, but who knows? West, 33, took to Twitter in a flurry of chatter Saturday morning, addressing the fallout from last year's microphone-snatching, Swift-slamming, Beyoncé-boosting incident at the MTV Video Music Awards. He says he has "bled hard" over the backlash from his behavior and announced the new song intended for the 20-year-old country popster.

"I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it," West twote at 10:26 a.m. Saturday. "If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her."

In the two-hour rant, he compared the unpopularity he's suffered to that of President George W. Bush and Ron Burgundy, the Will Ferrell character in "Anchorman": "Remember in Anchor Man when Ron Burgandy [sic] cursed on air and the entire city turned on him? But this wasn't a joke. This was & is my real life," he wrote 9:12 a.m. Saturday.

He ended with "I'm sorry Taylor" at 10:38 a.m.

It appears that Swift hasn't updated her own Twitter feed since Sept. 1. Swift reportedly accepted an apology from West on Sept. 15, 2009, after she appeared on "The View." MTV announced last month that West would perform at this year's Video Music Awards on Sept. 12 in Los Angeles.

Chris Klein sentenced

"Election" and "American Pie" actor Chris Klein pleaded no contest Friday in Van Nuys (Calif.) Superior Court to misdemeanor drunken driving and was sentenced to four years' probation and 18 months of alcohol education. A judge gave Klein, 31, credit for four days already spent in jail.

Police arrested Klein on June 16 after observing his car drifting across lanes on a Los Angeles-area freeway. The arrest was Klein's second for drunken driving in the past five years. He pleaded guilty in April 2005 to misdemeanor drunken driving, one month after he and Katie Holmes broke off their engagement and two months after his DUI arrest that year.
