"Top Chef: D.C." winner Kevin Sbraga fielded questions from Post readers Thursday about his triumph. Here are some excerpts from the chat.

Question: Going in, who (besides Angelo) did you think would be your major competition? I'm surprised Tiffany didn't make it to the final . . . but Ed & Angelo were pretty darn good. By the way, great win . . . and you did it with a dessert!

Kevin's Answer: I really thought Kelly was the major competition. She is the most complete, well-rounded chef. I know she's talented in all areas: appetizers, fish, meats and desserts. She was a major competitor.

Question: How did you manage to stay out of the rivalry between the other two contestants? Do you feel that they never took you as a serious threat? In the edited comments Angelo and Ed always talked about each other, but never really mentioned you.

Answer: I wasn't there to focus on anyone else. I can't control how well they do or what they cook. I can only focus on myself. I can only do my personal best. I kind of stayed out of that.

Question: Since the DMV helped make you famous, any thoughts on opening a restaurant in Washington?

Answer: I'd love to be down in D.C. I think it's a great food city. It's growing so much. I have some friends down there that have great restaurants. If the opportunity presented itself, I'd love to be down there.
