Advice for cat owners

Thursday, September 30, 2010; PG08

Raise cats to be indoor pets.

Keep your cat indoors.

Let out your cat only when you can be with it to supervise. And consider:

· Keeping it on a leash.

· Providing an enclosed run.

· Avoiding prime bird-feeding hours, early morning and late afternoon.

· Keeping it indoors during spring fledgling season, April to June.
