Coming & Going: New buses to New York, tasty airplane food at a price
Greyhound joins the pack
Greyhound and Peter Pan have finally gotten on the bus, offering nonstop service between New York and major cities along the Northeast Corridor.
Last week, the companies started sending out express buses between the Big Apple and Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston and Silver Spring.
The arrival and departure terminals are the same as those used for the million-stop service, and passengers are still asked to arrive one hour before their departure time.
Promotional fares begin at $10 one way. For next weekend, CoGo found $30 fares on Greyhound and Peter Pan - almost $20 less than Bolt Bus.

Will fly for food
Continental, one of the last airlines to eighty-six free inflight meals, has released its for-purchase menu, available beginning Oct. 12.
Selections sound surprisingly tasty, a rarity in high-altitude dining. Among the choices: grilled chicken spinach salad, Asian noodle salad, Angus cheeseburger, cheese and fruit plate, sausage-egg-cheese sandwich and - we'll take two of these - chocolate-covered cheesecake on a stick. Prices range from $1.50 for Pringles to $8.25 for the chix spinach salad.
The airline will offer the menus in economy class on select domestic, Canada and Latin America flights. Passengers on longer trips still score free meals.
New York's Wayne County, whose apple production is second only to Washington state's, has created an Apple Trail in the Finger Lakes. The region's Apple Tasting Tour Challenge runs through Halloween, and Tasting Weekend takes place Oct. 8-11. For a map and other info: www.waynecountytourism.com.
