Star rusher Williams questionable to play
After being ruled out with a right hamstring injury the past three games, running back Ryan Williams is listed as questionable on Virginia Tech's injury report for Saturday's game against Wake Forest. If the redshirt sophomore plays, it would be his first appearance for the Hokies since a Sept. 18 win over East Carolina.
Without Williams, Virginia Tech (4-2, 2-0 ACC) used a two-headed attack featuring junior Darren Evans and sophomore David Wilson.
Coach Frank Beamer said all three would split carries upon Williams's return to the lineup.

North Carolina announced Thursday night that senior tailback Ryan Houston is cleared to play Saturday at Virginia. Houston sat out the Tar Heels' first five games while the NCAA and the school investigated his amateur status. Houston was one of several North Carolina players caught up in an agent scandal that has drawn scrutiny to the program since the summer.
Houston was the team's leading rusher in 2009 when he ran for 713 yards and nine touchdowns.
Houston had 16 yards on three carries against Virginia last year.
