Fair Oaks District

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CENTREVILLE RD., 3000 block. Cash was stolen from a business.

CHAIN BRIDGE RD., 2900 block. Beer was stolen from a business.

FAIR LAKES PROMENADE DR., 12100 block, Oct. 16 and Oct. 9. Two women attempted to pass fraudulent checks at a business. A 35-year-old Maryland woman was charged with possession of forged coin or bank notes. A 49-year-old District woman was charged with possession of a fictitious identification or driver's license, possession of a forged coin or bank note, obtaining money by false pretenses, providing false information to law enforcement and forging or uttering a fraudulent check.

FAIRFAX TOWNE CENTER, 12100 block. A wallet was stolen from a business.

FOREST DR., 4500 block, 1 to 7 a.m. Sept. 30. An unsuccessful attempt was made to break into a residence.

LEE HWY., 11900 block. A metal computer frame was stolen from a business.

LEGACY CIR., 13600 block. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle.

SALK ST. AND RIVER BIRCH RD. A cellphone and two Global Positioning System devices were stolen from a vehicle.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

METROTECH DR., 13900 block. A Cadillac was stolen.

Franconia District

HOMICIDES

ROSE HILL SHOPPING CENTER, Oct. 14. Wyatt Campbell, 18, of the 6000 block of Rose Hill Drive, Alexandria, died shortly after 11 p.m. while seeking medical treatment at Inova Springfield Healthplex. He had been injured in an altercation near Rose Hill Shopping Center that evening.

ASSAULTS

LAMBKIN CT., 7800 block, 5:34 p.m. Oct. 16. A man threatened a police officer with a fire poker. A 26-year-old man was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer.

ROBBERIES

SPRINGFIELD PLAZA, 6300 block, 8:44 p.m. Oct. 19. Two men attempted to rob a 48-year-old man, and one tried to stab him with a knife. Two Springfield men, ages 30 and 37, were charged with attempted robbery. The 37-year-old was also charged with attempted malicious wounding and identity theft.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLAND ST., 6800 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 16 to 2:55 a.m. Oct. 17. A cash register was stolen from a restaurant.

CHAPMAN RD., 6000 block. A gun was stolen from a vehicle.

COVERDALE WAY, 5900 block. A bumper and a license plate were stolen from a vehicle.

CURTIER DR., 6000 block. A bag of rice and a banana were stolen from a residence.

FRANCONIA RD., 5800 block. Tools were stolen from a residence.

FRANCONIA RD., 6100 block. A snow blower was stolen from a residence.

INDUSTRIAL RD., 6800 block. A weed trimmer was stolen from a business.

LAMAR DR., 7200 block. A platinum ring and a watch were stolen from a residence.

LORRAINE CAROL WAY, 9700 block. An iPod was stolen from a residence.

PACIFIC LANE, 6900 block. A credit card was stolen from a business.

RAVENSWORTH RD., 5200 block. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle.

UPLAND DR., 4800 block. Two Global Positioning System devices and two iPods were stolen from a residence.

NORTH KINGS HWY., 5800 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 20. A man ran from a police officer when she attempted to stop him for traffic violations. An 18-year-old Alexandria man was charged with grand larceny for stealing a car, driving while intoxicated and without a driver's license, hit and run, obstruction of justice, presenting false information to law enforcement and driving without headlights on.

Reston District

ASSAULTS

PARCHER AVE., 13100 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 16. A 20-year-old Herndon man resisted arrest and was charged with underage possession of alcohol, public drunkenness, assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

ROBBERIES

SOUTH LAKES DR., 11400 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 15. A group of males robbed a 14-year-old female pedestrian of her cellphone.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BAYOU DR., 12600 block, FANTASIA DR., 12700 block, and FLAGSHIP AVE., 12800 block, 9:20 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 19. Items were stolen from unlocked cars. A 19-year-old Sterling man was charged with grand larceny, petty larceny, credit card theft and larceny from vehicles.

BRANTON LANE, 11100 block, 8:30 a.m. Oct. 8 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14. An attempt was made to break into a residence.

CENTREVILLE RD., 2500 block. A case of beer was stolen from a business.

COMMERCE PARK DR., 11400 block. Sixty-three pairs of earrings were stolen from a business.

FOUNTAIN DR., 1700 block. Cash was stolen from a business.

GRACE MEADOW CT., 800 block. A ring, an iPod and cash were stolen from a vehicle.

KETTERING DR., 12800 block. Two bags were stolen from a vehicle.

OLDE TIVERTON CIR., 11500 block. An iPod and a navigational system were stolen from a vehicle.

OLE DIRT RD., 400 block. Tools were stolen from a residence.

SPRINGVALE FOREST CT., 10500 block, 5 a.m. Oct. 17. A man returned home and found a man in his residence. The intruder assaulted him, then fled.

PAYNES CHURCH DR., 10600 block. A cellphone was stolen from a vehicle.

SHADOWGLEN TRAIL, 10700 block. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence.

SIDEBURN RD., 5000 block. An iPhone was stolen from a school.

SILVERBROOKE RD., 8500 block, Oct. 8. Three credit cards were stolen from a female at a high school. Two of the credit cards were used later in the day.

SOLOMON SEAL CT., 7000 block. A cellphone was stolen from a residence.

WALUNUT WOOD LANE, 5700 block. A purse was stolen from a vehicle.

VANDALISM

PORTSMOUTH RD., 5200 block, midnight to 7:30 a.m. Oct. 16. Windows and mirrors of three vehicles were broken, and racial slurs were etched into the surface of one of the vehicles.

Fairfax City

FAIRFAX BLVD., 9800 block, 11:10 p.m. Oct. 13. Police took an intoxicated female to a detention center, where she scratched and spat on the arresting officer. A 34-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with assaulting an officer and public drunkenness.

ROBBERIES

ARDMORE AND ASHBY PLACES, 6:59 p.m. Oct. 17. A group of males grabbed a 20-year-old male pedestrian and punched him while searching his pockets. Nothing was reported taken.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CHAIN BRIDGE RD., 3900 block, 11:30 p.m. Oct. 16. A wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen from a restaurant. The credit cards were used to make purchases.

EATON PL., 10300 block, 10 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. Oct. 18. A wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen from a business office. One of the credit cards was used to make several purchases.

MAIN ST., 9600 block, 7 to 10:26 p.m. Oct. 18. Cash and a credit card were stolen from a wallet in a locked vehicle. The credit card was used to make purchases.

MAIN ST., 10400 block, 2:50 p.m. Oct. 8. A man and a woman stole a gold chain and a pendant from a display table in a boutique while the proprietor was getting a box for their purchase.

MAPLE ST., 10700 block, 6:30 to 8:34 p.m. Oct. 19. Six Halloween decorations were stolen from the front yard of a residence.

NORTH ST., 10300 block, 4:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7. A set of keys, which had been left on a table at a library, were stolen.

ORCHARD ST., 11 p.m. Oct. 16 to 3:17 p.m. Oct. 18. Four wheels and tires were stolen from a vehicle in an auto dealership storage lot.

UNIVERSITY DR., 3700 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 6. A lawn chair was stolen from the back yard of a residence.

WILLARD WAY, 10300 block, 1:09 p.m. Oct. 14. A man concealed merchandise in his pants pocket and left a grocery store. A 44-year-old Fairfax man was charged with larceny.

VANDALISM

CHAIN BRIDGE RD., 3500 block, 6 a.m. to 6:43 p.m. Oct. 14. Electric control wires in a construction area were cut.

TROWBRIDGE ST. AND GEORGE MASON BLVD., 1 to 1:30 a.m. Oct. 16. A fence was damaged at a residence, and branches were broken off seven trees in the city right-of-way along George Mason Boulevard.

BROAD ST. W., 100 block, 10:29 a.m. Oct. 16. A man assaulted an 18-year-old man. A 32-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with simple assault.

WILSON BLVD., 6600 block, 10:20 p.m. Oct. 16. A 20-year-old Alexandria man and a 29-year-old Falls Church man were arrested in connection with an assault at a restaurant.

WILSON BLVD., 6600 block, 10:20 p.m. Oct. 16. A 31-year-old Falls Church man was arrested at a restaurant in connection with simple assault, public drunkenness and resisting arrest.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ELLISON SQ., 1000 block, 8:16 a.m. Oct. 12. A laptop computer and a Global Positioning System device were stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

GIBSON PL., 1300 block, 4 a.m. Oct. 13. A backpack, loose change and a Global Positioning System device were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

GIBSON PL., 1300 block, 4 a.m. Oct. 13. Quarters and a water gun were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

HAYCOCK RD., 100 block, 6:55 a.m. Oct. 12. Global Positioning System devices were stolen from two vehicles entered by breaking windows.

OFFUTT DR., 1200 block, 4:43 p.m. Oct. 12. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

POPLAR DR., 400 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 12 to 11:09 a.m. Oct. 13. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

ROSEMARY LANE, 100 block, 4 a.m. Oct. 13. A rosary was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

DULLES CT., 800 block, 4:25 a.m. Oct. 13. A 21-year-old Reston man was arrested in connection with assault.

ELDEN ST., 1200 block, 9:08 p.m. Oct. 14. A person made derogatory comments to a male, then showed a knife and pushed him before leaving.

SPRUCE CT., 400 block, 9:33 p.m. Oct. 17. A person assaulted an acquaintance.

VAN BUREN ST., 700 block, 7:50 p.m. Oct. 17. A 25-year-old Herndon man was arrested in connection with assault and violating a protective order.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BURWICK DR., 1100 block, 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 17. An Xbox 360 and controllers were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

ELDEN ST., 400 block, 10:12 a.m. Oct. 14. A 28-year-old Reston man was arrested in connection with larceny.

ELDEN ST., 1000 block, 5:32 p.m. Oct. 17. A wallet was stolen from a business.

ELDEN ST., 1000 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 18. Quarters were stolen from a laundry machine.

HERNDON PKWY., 500 block, 1:48 a.m. Oct. 15. Three Herndon men, ages 22, 24 and 44, were arrested in connection with grand larceny and destruction of property.

HORIZON CT., 1400 block, Sept. 1 to Oct. 13. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.

MONROE ST., 1300 block, Aug. 30 to Oct. 11. A bicycle was stolen from the back yard of a residence.

WORLDGATE DR., 13000 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 10 to 9:15 a.m. Oct. 11. A DVD player was stolen from a vehicle, and two other vehicles were entered by force.

VANDALISM

BARKER HILL RD., 900 block, 11:23 p.m. Oct. 15. A mailbox was damaged.

CENTER ST., 600 block, 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Bicycles were damaged.

ELDEN ST., 1200 block, 11:12 a.m. Oct. 16. Graffiti were found in the area.

KNIGHT LANE, 1000 block, 8 a.m. Oct. 13 to 2:55 p.m. Oct. 17. A latch on a gate was damaged.

Vienna

The following incidents were recently reported by the Vienna Police Department. For more information, call 703-255-6396.

ASSAULTS

MAPLE AVE. E., 200 block, 8:11 p.m. Oct. 19. A male attempting to refill a prescription became irate when he saw the price and began to curse at the pharmacist. The customer left the store, then called and made threats. A police officer contacted the customer and told him he was not permitted to return to the store.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ADAHI RD. SE, 200 block, 12:30 a.m. Oct. 13. A homeowner heard an alarm indicating that a door was open in his house. A check of his basement revealed that the lights were on and an exterior door was ajar. Nothing was reported missing.

ADAHI RD. SE, 400 block, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Two rings were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

CHURCH ST. NE, 100 block, 11:15 to 11:35 a.m. Oct. 19. A bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a store while the owner was shopping in the store.

FAIRWAY DR. NE, 900 block, 7:18 p.m. Oct. 13 to noon Oct. 14. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

KINGSLEY RD. SE, 100 block, 1 to 7 a.m. Oct. 19. Halloween decorations were stolen from the front yard of a residence.

KINGSLEY RD. SW, 100 block, noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 8. Prescription medication was stolen from a residence.

MAPLE AVE. E., 400 block, 12:01 to 10 a.m. Oct. 21. Shelving units outside a restaurant were stolen.

VANDALISM

COURTHOUSE RD. SW, 200 block, 2:30 a.m. Oct. 18. Two unlocked vehicles were ransacked. Nothing appeared to be missing.
