What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Silver Spring and Takoma Park are flourishing, but we must continually develop the educational, transportation, health-care, housing, energy and environmental infrastructure to support our quality of life and promote economic opportunity. This means careful state investments in public school construction and innovation, the Purple Line and road improvements; a sweeping new storm-water treatment policy; and intensified efforts to stop gang violence, end drunken driving and bring health care to the uninsured. Progress requires sustained investment in the public infrastructure and creative attention to community needs."
Why should voters elect you?
"I have been an effective leader for progressive change and an ever-vigilant public servant. I love our community and am devoted to our people."
