What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"We must build our job and tax base through smart-growth redevelopment and transit-oriented development so that we can raise more revenue that is not generated from residents. We must put those additional funds into schools, public safety, youth programs, neighborhoods, transit, social services, health, job training, protecting our environment, alternative energy, pedestrian improvements and seniors. We must capitalize on our many assets (existing employment and education centers and transportation network) to attract federal and private-sector jobs. We should especially use any increased revenue to help young people learn the skills and values to make good life decisions."
Why should voters elect you?
"I seek reelection with a strong record of responsive constituent service, empowering neighborhoods, attracting redevelopment, regulating pawnshops, supporting youth and protecting the environment."
