What's the deal?

This week's travel bargains from around the globe.

LAND

Nearly 100 New York City hotels are offering deals and perks for January and February stays. Packages vary but may include discounted rates and free cocktails, breakfast and parking. For example, a two-night stay at the Holiday Inn SoHo Downtown Manhattan includes a $50 food and beverage voucher, plus complimentary breakfast for two. Nightly rates start at $171, plus $57 taxes. Wyoming's Jackson Hole Resort has several winter lodging and ski deals. Stay between Nov. 27 and Dec. 23 and pay reduced rates on all properties. For example, a one-bedroom condo that normally goes for $225 a night is $140, a 37 percent discount. Add $19 per night in taxes. Or ski for free Nov. 27-Dec. 22 (a value of $91 a day) when you share a one-bedroom unit with three other people; nightly rates start at $78 per person, plus taxes of $10 per night. Concorde Hotels and Resorts is offering 20 percent off rates at its properties in Europe, North Africa and Japan for stays through March 13. Rooms at the Hotel Concorde Montparnasse Paris, for example, start at $214 per night, including breakfast and taxes; usual rate is $264. Minimum two-night stay required for all properties. SEA

Oceania Cruises is offering two-for-one cruise fares, f ree round-trip economy air from Washington Dulles and $1,000 shipboard credit per cabin on its 2011 Alaska cruises. Rates start at $2,999 per person double, including fees and taxes, compared with $5,998 brochure price. In addition, rates for the third and fourth passengers in a cabin start at $999 each, down from $1,749. The 10- to 14-night cruises on the mid-size Regatta depart from San Francisco, Vancouver, B.C., or Anchorage between May and August. AIR

American has extended its sale to several European cities, including Frankfurt, Brussels and Paris. Cheapest fares are from New York's JFK Airport. Sample round-trip fare, including taxes: JFK to Milan, $600; and from Washington Dulles, $739. Book by Nov. 16, depart by March 31 and return by April 17. Other airlines are matching. PACKAGE

Book a package with Southwest Vacations and receive two free nights of lodging in several U.S. cities, including Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas and New Orleans. For example, air from BWI Marshall to San Diego, plus four nights at the Hilton San Diego Resort, comes to $1,155 for two people, including taxes - a savings of $403.
