Stray mastiff is a survivor

SILVER SPRING, February Cir., 11500 block, Oct. 20. An apartment complex manager called animal services about a stray dog living behind the complex and looking in trash bins for food. An animal services officer found the dog, a mastiff, sleeping on a mattress at the edge of the property. When the dog saw the officer, it ran into nearby woods. The dog, which appeared to be healthy, eluded numerous attempts at capture.
