The Hillary Clinton factor

Monday, November 8, 2010; 8:09 PM

Dana Milbank failed to adequately note what American politics has become when he suggested that a Hillary Clinton presidency might have produced different midterm results for the Democrats ["What would Hillary do?," Sunday Opinions, Nov. 7]. Ms. Clinton would still have been labeled a socialist, she would still have been considered a mortal threat to "real America," and her actions would still have been unappreciated. Our politics is, unfortunately, all about vilification - and successfully so. This is what needs to change, if we are to change our results. Changing players no longer changes anything.
