American vs. Florida

Records: Eagles 5-2, No. 18 Gators 5-2.

Outlook: American has lost two straight since winning five in a row, which was its best start in 25 years. Senior F Vlad Moldoveanu is averaging 21.3 points to rank him in the top 25 nationally. Junior Fs Stephen Lumpkins and Troy Brewer are contributing 13.3 and 13.1 points, respectively. The Gators, coming off a 57-54 upset loss to Central Florida on Wednesday, defeated the Eagles last year in Gainesville, Fla., 76-60. Senior C Vernon Macklin, a 6-foot-10 transfer from Georgetown, is averaging 9.6 points and 5.9 rebounds. He shot 10 of 11 against Central Florida. Sophomore G Kenny Boynton leads the team with a 14.6-point average.

George Washington vs. Navy

Records: Colonials 2-4, Midshipmen 3-6.

Outlook: GW beat the Midshipmen last year in the BB&T Classic, 81-69. The Colonials average 63.8 points per game and make just 35.4 percent of their field goals - which ranks 323rd out of 336 teams in Division I. G Tony Taylor leads GW in scoring with 13.8 points per game. Navy is going for its fourth straight 80-point game and has averaged 83.7 points in its last three games. G Greg Brown (St. Mary's Ryken) leads the Midshipmen in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game. Second-leading scorer Jordan Sugars (12.2 ppg) has missed the past three games with a hand injury. He is expected to play against GW.
