HIGHLIGHTS

"The 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors" (CBS at 9) - held Dec. 5, honoring Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Bill T. Jones, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey - airs Tuesday night, and is previewed by Hank Stuever on Page C1.

A new "Nova" episode (WETA and MPT at 8) features "Secrets Beneath the Ice," which follows scientists into freezing conditions as part of the ANDRILL project that drills beneath the Antarctic ice to discover rocks that reveal details about the Earth's past and present.

Patti tries once again to help out unlucky-in-love rich people on "Millionaire Matchmaker" (Bravo at 9); this week, her challenges include an heir to a diet-product fortune who has some very specific goals for a mate.

"Cupcake Wars" (Food Network at 9) has a music and charity-themed competition when four bakers must try to create cupcakes for the Hard Rock Cafe's concert event for breast cancer awareness, with special guest rocker Melissa Etheridge.

In between Mike Rowe answering viewer mail, "Dirty Jobs" (Discovery at 9) airs some unseen footage of Mike on various jobs; and later, he heads to sunny Palm Springs, Calif., to collect pollen from trees.

A bride-to-be who takes shopping advice from her mom gets a makeover on "What Not to Wear" (TLC at 9), and Clinton and Stacy are horrified to find that her wardrobe only consists of baggy, unattractive clothes that she wore throughout 12 years of school without any thought of looking fashionable.

The Golds are back for a second season of "Hardcore Pawn" (truTV at 10, 10:30), chronicling the adventures inside a family-run pawn shop in Detroit, and kick things off with a customer who's positive he has a special item that can talk to aliens.

"Glory Daze" (TBS at 10) follows a fraternity pledge class from 1986, so it's only fitting that Eli becomes obsessed with Tom Cruise's "Top Gun," which was a hit film that year.

The team on "Auction Kings" (TLC at 10) hopes that people will want to buy antique toys and also be interested in a history lesson with a Charles Lindbergh scrapbook.

After last week's finale, Drew Pinsky hosts a "16 & Pregnant" finale special (MTV at 10) following up on the lives of cast members from the past season.

Immediately following, Dr. Drew is also on hand for the 30-minute documentary "No Easy Decision" (MTV at 11:30), which talks to one former "16 and Pregnant" subject as she decides whether to have an abortion.
