Clooney on 'antigenocide' watch

This week, George Clooney is launching the Satellite Sentinel Project, an initiative that aims to increase the accountability of Sudan's warring factions by publishing satellite images of troop movements, Time magazine reports. "We are the antigenocide paparazzi," the actor told Time.

The human rights organization Not on Our Watch, founded by Clooney and Hollywood pals Matt Damon and Brad Pitt, provided the Satellite Sentinel Project with $750,000 for its initial fundraising efforts.

Clooney, 49, teamed up with the U.N.'s Operational Satellite Applications Programme, Harvard University and the Enough Project for the initiative. The images can be viewed at, which goes live on Wednesday.

Bristol Palin is no Sun Devil

Rumor mills went crazy when Bristol Palin, 20, paid $172,000 in cash for a house in Phoenix , but a rep for Arizona State University confirmed to The Post that Palin is not enrolling.

"Ms. Palin is neither enrolled nor has she applied to any unit at Arizona State University," Sharon Keeler, director of media relations, responded in an e-mail.

Proud new dads of baby Zachary

Sir Elton John and David Furnish are now the proud parents of Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, People magazine reports.

The healthy seven-pound baby boy was delivered on Dec. 25 in California. Elton, 63, and Furnish, 48, opted for a surrogate pregnancy to expand their family.

"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment. Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents," the couple said in a statement.

The singer and husband say they plan to make their son the No. 1 priority in their lives. "We don't want to put the raising of children into the hands of nannies and housekeepers. We want to be active parents," Furnish said.

John met Furnish in 1993. The couple exchanged wedding vows in a civil ceremony in 2005.
