Drug use over 50 AARP Viva, Winter issue

AARP Viva is a quarterly bilingual magazine that debuted last year for readers over age 50. All of the content in the winter issue is published in English and Spanish, except for a special Spanish-only insert on Social Security. One article explores the uptick in illicit drug use among adults in their 50s and introduces readers to Boris Gonzalez, a wine-industry heir who runs upscale detox homes for older addicts.

Another feature is about Latin American immigrants with college degrees who work in unskilled jobs because of language and licensing barriers. It focuses on a 54-year-old Mexican surgeon who dreams of using his medical degree in the United States.
