Body found in pond was Arundel man

Anne Arundel County police identified a body Monday that was found in an Edgewater pond Sunday as that of Justin P. Raddie, 28.

Raddie lived in the 900 block of Echo Bay Court in Gambrills, police said.

His body was discovered when a woman walking her dog around the pond near Riverton Place and Stepneys Lane noticed holes in the ice that she said she had not seen the previous day, officials said.

She called authorities, and Raddie's body was found in the pond.

An autopsy was pending, police said.

Man robbed at home in Cabin John area

A 68-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Monday afternoon by two intruders in his home in the Cabin John area, Montgomery County police said.

The victim was not injured, and the crime was not considered to have been random, said Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman.

Starks said officers were called to a home in the 7400 block of Arden Road about 1 p.m. Monday for a report of a robbery.

The victim reported that two attackers broke through the back door of his home. One of the assailants brandished a handgun, Starks said.

The intruders asked for duct tape, which the victim provided, Starks said. The attackers tied up the victim with the tape, took some of his property and fled, Starks said.

Starks declined to say what was taken.
