Where to stay

Scandic Malmen

Gotgatan 49-51

www.scandichotels.com/malmen

Wanna stay where the band is staying? This Sodermalm hotel hosts many of the touring acts that play across the street at Debaser Medis. Rooms range from $149 per night for a windowless underground cabin (i.e., hangover bunker) to $404 per night for a master suite.

Hotel Tre Sma Rum

Hobergsgatan 81

www.tresmarum.se

This seven-room, three-bathroom hostel on a quiet Sodermalm street is clean, quaint and run by a friendly owner who thinks Robyn is "really quite good." Rooms for $119 per night.

Where to eat

Louie Louie

Bondegatan 13

Some of Stockholm's best dressed can be spotted at this hip Soder cafe, lunching on tasty grilled sandwiches ($12), sipping hot tea ($1.50) or just tapping their toes to the David Bowie songs on the stereo.

Hermans

Fjallgatan 23B

Popular vegetarian restaurant offering a savory buffet ($15 for lunch, $22 for dinner) and a primo waterfront view of Stockholm.

Strand

Hornstull Strand 4

Soder's best nightclub doubles as a fusion restaurant. After the show, try the lamb tabbouleh ($28), and don't pass on the incredibly sweet desserts ($11).

What to do

Bars and nightclubs in and near Sodermalm:

This trendy neighborhood is the thumping heart of the Stockholm music scene, thanks to its intimate bars (Indigo, Gotgatan 19; Nada, Asogatan 140; Pet Sounds Bar, Skanegatan 80; Snotty, Skanegatan 90) and its inviting nightclubs (Debaser Medis, Medborgarplatsen 8; Sodra Teatern, Mosebacke 1; Strand, Hornstull Strand 4). You'll have to cross a bridge to visit the original Debaser Slussen nightclub at Karl Johans Torg 1 in the Slussen neighborhood - home of Elisabeth Salander, novelist Steig Larsson's "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

Bars and nightclubs in Stureplan:

Things can get pretty posh in the Stureplan neighborhood, but check out Riche at Birger Jarlsgatan 4 - and be sure to use the door on the right. (The left is an always-mobbed restaurant of the same name.) After that, head over to the stunning Berns Salonger at Berzelii Park 103, Stockholm's most resplendent music venue.
