THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Curie Ct., 2400 block, 3 p.m. Jan. 13. Firearms and small electronic items were stolen from a residence.

Fairfax Towne Center, 12200 block. Two cases of beer were stolen from a business.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT
ABDUCTIONS

Route 1 and Woodside Lane, 3:20 p.m. Jan. 12. A man in a vehicle shouted at a 20-year-old female pedestrian, and as she walked toward the vehicle, the man opened a door and pulled her into the vehicle. He fondled her as he drove to Prince William County, where she escaped and was helped by a nearby woman. The man drove away.

ROBBERIES

Lorton Station Blvd., 8900 block, 3:15 p.m. Jan. 17. A man robbed a pharmacist of Oxycodone pills.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Belvoir Woods Pkwy., 9100 block. A diamond ring was stolen from a residence.

Calcott Way, 5500 block. License plates were stolen from a vehicle.

Channing Rd., 5800 block. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle.

Colette Dr., 6300 block. Lawn equipment was stolen from a residence.

Craig St., 5900 block. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle.

Craig St., 6000 block. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle.

Lorton Station Blvd., 9000 block. Three sandwiches were stolen from a business.

Richmond Hwy.and Lorton Rd., A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.

Springfield Mall, 6500 block. A purse was stolen from a business.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Grandwind Dr., 7700 block, Dec. 28 to Jan. 2. A 2001 Ford Escort was stolen. A police officer later observed a man driving the vehicle near Richmond Highway and Sacramento Drive on Jan. 13. After a brief pursuit, a 20-year-old Alexandria man was arrested and charged with grand larceny, felony speeding to elude police and driving with a suspended driver's license.

ROBBERIES

Seminary Rd., 5700 block, 2:05 a.m. Jan. 13. A gunman robbed a 54-year-old man withdrawing cash from an ATM.

Sanibel Dr., 2200 block, 12:45 a.m. Jan. 15. A male juvenile stole a 2000 Ford Expedition from a pizza deliveryman. Police located a youth driving the vehicle and arrested him after a brief pursuit. A 17-year-old boy was charged with grand larceny and felony speeding to elude police.

Braddock Rd., 14700 block. Cash was stolen from a residence.

ASSAULTS

Fairfax Blvd., 10400 block, 2:36 p.m. Jan. 14. A man struck a 28-year-old man several times as he stood outside a business in a costume waving at passing vehicles. The assailant fled when the 28-year-old hit him in return.

Haynesworth Pl., 3800 block, 10:48 p.m. Jan. 12. A woman reported that a man who had been staying at her residence had cut her hand during an argument. A 53-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with assault.

Carolyn Ave., 3900 block, 9 p.m. Jan. 15 to 12:06 p.m. Jan. 16. Several items were taken from an unlocked vehicle and tossed into the street.

Daniels Run Way, 10000 block, 8:30 p.m. Jan. 12 to 8:50 a.m. Jan. 13. An iPod was stolen from a vehicle in the driveway of a residence.

Howerton Ave., 10700 block, 4 p.m. Jan. 15 to 8:14 a.m. Jan. 16. Two business card holders were stolen from a vehicle.

Laurie Pl., 10000 block, 2:30 to 4:14 a.m. Jan. 16. A purse containing cash, checks and a credit card was stolen from a vehicle. The vehicle was entered by breaking a window. Some of the items were recovered in the 3900 block of Fairview Drive.

Lee Hwy., 11100 block, 11 p.m. Jan. 17 to 10:01 a.m. Jan. 18. Four tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle in a parking lot.

Meredith Dr., 3800 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 to 6:11 a.m. Jan. 15. A projector and three sets of headphones were stolen from offices at a religious institution. Keys for the offices had been taken from a key box.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Fairfax Blvd., 9600 block, 10 p.m. Jan. 15 to 1:13 p.m. Jan. 17. A 2009 Nissan Sentra was stolen from a parking lot.

VANDALISM

Main St., 9700 block, Dec. 22 to Jan. 15. Sugar was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle.

Washington St. S., 200 block, 3:15 a.m. Jan. 17. Two people stole two bottles of wine from a store and fled in a vehicle.

Washington St. S., 800 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 10 to 8:39 a.m. Jan. 11. Five car batteries were stolen from a shed at an auto repair business.

Maple St. S., 400 block, 12:32 a.m. Jan. 13. Graffiti were found on a stop sign.

April Way, 1300 block, 8 p.m. Jan. 11 to 7 a.m. Jan. 12. Cash, a vehicle's registration, an umbrella and a flashlight were stolen from a vehicle.

Campbell Way, 700 block, 10:09 p.m. Jan. 12. Bluetooth equipment and a Global Positioning System device were stolen from a vehicle.

Elden St., 400 block, 12:38 p.m. Jan. 15. A person attempted to steal beer from a business.

Dominion Rd. near Church St. NE, 4 p.m. Jan. 16. Three males demanded cash from a 15-year-old female pedestrian. The girl fought one of the males and ran away.

Mashie Dr. SE, 500 block, Nov. to Jan. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.

Niblick Dr. SE, 100 block, 10:15 a.m. to 5:10 p.m. Jan. 18. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by prying open a rear window and screen.

Park St. SE, 1100 block, 5:55 p.m. Jan. 19. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle that had been parked in front of a preschool while a woman went inside to retrieve her child. Credit cards from the purse were used.

Timber Lane SW, 900 block, noon Dec. 28. A laptop computer and an iPod were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

VANDALISM

Courthouse Rd. SW, 400 block, Jan. 12 to Jan. 19. A fence was damaged.

Owaissa Rd. SE, 300 block, 11 p.m. Jan. 16 to 2:59 p.m. Jan. 17. Raw eggs were thrown on a vehicle.

Plumb St. SW, 500 block, 1:38 a.m. Jan. 14. A man reported that he had seen males near his car and one had opened a door. The man and a friend chased the males and stopped one, but he threatened them, so they returned home to call police. A 19-year-old Centreville man was charged with tampering with a vehicle and public drunkenness. - Compiled by Jean Mack
