'Fans' of SpongeBob get episode sneak peek
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and has 16 million Facebook fans?
We'll pause while you shout out the answer!
Tonight will be a first for the residents of Bikini Bottom: A new "SpongeBob SquarePants" episode will debut on Facebook before it appears on Nickelodeon, the television network that airs the tales of SpongeBob, Patrick and their pals.
"Trenchbillies," the first of five new episodes called "The Legends of Bikini Bottom," will be shown at www.facebook.com/spongebob at 8 tonight. The four other new episodes will air Friday at 8 p.m. on Nick, and you can watch all five back-to-back-to-back (you get the idea) on Saturday morning starting at 10, also on Nick.
So why would a television network first air a show on the Internet? It's "a great opportunity to try something new," says Brown Johnson, the president of animation for Nickelodeon. Apparently, 16 million Facebook fans aren't enough for SpongeBob!
Be sure to ask your parents before watching on Facebook, and, remember, if you can't watch online, you only have to wait till Saturday!
