Commuter Update: Red Line delays clear up; many area roads still empty

9:10 A.M. UPDATE:

The Red Line delays have cleared up, according to Metro.

8:38 A.M. UPDATE:

There are delays on the Red line heading to Glenmont after a train malfunctioned earlier this morning at Van Ness. The train issue has been resolved, but the delays remain.

The Post's Eli Reyes reports from the Red Line that inbound service is sporadic, and it took nearly 30 minutes before a train arrived at Van Ness. He reports that trains are packed, but traffic is lighter than usual.

7:24 A.M. UPDATE:

The delays have cleared, according to Metro.


There are delays on the Green and Yellow Lines due to a train malfunction at the Shaw-Howard University station. Trains are sharing the same track between U Street and Mt. Vernon Square, causing delays in both directions.
