I understand that The Post supports and encourages a more civil tone in our political discourse. As a political conservative, I therefore should assume that no offense was intended by the headlines on the Jan. 25 op-ed columns by Richard Cohen ["The GOP's lobotomy"] and Gene Robinson ["A surplus of spite"] that together branded me, and others who think as I do, spiteful lobotomy patients.

Perhaps this is just The Post's new normal for civil discourse. If so, could you please share with me the proper, civil terms I should use when referring to those who hold opinions different than my own?
