Need to revive your spirits in the midst of the winter doldrums? Let your mind fast-forward to spring, when a wave of new (and not-so-new) styles will surface on store shelves. Here, a preview of the top pairs to pick up once the mercury starts to rise.

Clog redux

After resurfacing last fall, clogs have secured a spot on the style radar. But don't dust off any clunky old pair -- instead, opt for styles with slim or stacked heels, a manageable platform and hardware that hints at the clog silhouette. Get the look: INC International Concepts Wanda pump. $89 at area Macy's stores

This style hybrid (a marriage between a simple flat and a sturdy platform) popped up on runways from Derek Lam to Chanel. Get the look: Via Spiga's Ecstacy crocodile-print sandal. $175 at area department stores and Available in March.

Color theory

Neutrals punctuated by bright jolts of color make a splash for spring, and even some of the most color-wary designers -- Jil Sander's Raf Simons and Haider Ackermann, for starters -- jumped on the bold-is-beautiful bandwagon. Get the look: Rachel Rachel Roy Zahira sandal. $119 at area Macy's stores and Available in March.
