More noonday beaches

You don't need a Star Trek transporter to reach the beach by noon. You just have to get up early, move swiftly between points and preferably travel midweek, when the lines at immigration and customs are typically shorter. Here are seven destinations served by flights that land in the morning, along with sample round-trip fares from Washington for late February, plus the closest beach to the airport - to land you on the strand at that magical hour.

Cancun, Mexico

Sample flight: Delta leaves Reagan National at 5:45 a.m. and arrives at 10:24 a.m. From $651.

Closest beach: Playa Delfines, also known as El Mirador

Cozumel, Mexico

Sample flight: Delta leaves Reagan National at 5:45 a.m. and arrives at 10:21 a.m. From $358.

Closest beach: Playa Azul

Freeport, Bahamas

Sample flight: American leaves Washington Dulles at 6 a.m. and arrives at 11:25 a.m. From $427.
