Scarf traps cat in parked pickup's engine

OKIE STREET NE, 1300 block, Feb. 15. An animal control officer, who was responding to a call about a cat stuck in the engine of a parked pickup, found the animal wearing a scarf, which had become entangled around the front axle.

The officer cut the scarf to free the cat and took the animal to the D.C. shelter, where it was being evaluated for adoption.

Among cases handled by the Washington Humane Society.
