No reason 'unmanned' doesn't cover both men and women
Jane Campbell's letter [Free for All, Feb. 26] complaining that The Post's use of the term "unmanned drone" is "outdated, sexist language" was itself outdated.
Long ago, feminism moved past gotcha pettiness. Women can be found at all levels of the business world; they comprise more than half those in our law and medical schools; they are the majority of our workforce; and men can now hold doors for women without fearing rebuke. We are more comfortable with each other.
We understand that the word "unmanned" encompasses the word "unwomaned" in the context in which it was used.
