Grace B. Goldstein, teacher
Grace B. Goldstein, 92, a D.C. public school teacher and reading specialist for 20 years, died Feb. 21 at Greenspring Village retirement community in Springfield of congestive heart failure.
Mrs. Goldstein taught from 1958 until she retired in 1979. She worked at Anne Beers and Amidon elementary schools, among others.
Grace Sylvia Beer, a native of New York City, moved to Washington in the late 1930s. She was a 1958 graduate of D.C. Teachers College and received a master's degree in education in 1970 from George Washington University.
She moved to Greenspring Village a few years ago from Silver Spring.
Her memberships included the D.C. Education Association, the Greater Washington Reading Council and the International Reading Association.
Her husband of 45 years, Milton Goldstein, died in 1985.
Survivors include two children, Steven Goldstein of Annandale and Helen Elkin of Stuttgart, Germany; a brother; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
